The California Council on Teacher Education sponsors an awards program intended to identify and honor both programs and individuals of special merit within the California teacher education community.
The awards program is coordinated by the CCTE Awards Committee, chaired by Eric Engdahl of California State University, East Bay. There is an open call for nominations for CCTE awards (see link below to the call) and the Committee makes selections for awards to be presented, as appropriate, at each CCTE semi-annual conference.
Primary among CCTE awards is the Quality Education Partnership Award for Distinguished Service to Children and the Preparation of Teachers, which is presented as appropriate to collaborative programs between a college or university and a K-12 school, school district, or county office.
Other CCTE awards are geared to honor individual teacher educators andK-12 teachers and administrators.
CCTE has also recently established the CCTE Outstanding Dissertation Award.
