Call for Manuscripts
Issues in Teacher Education is a peer-reviewed journal published twice yearly by the California Council on Teacher Education (CCTE). Issues in Teacher Education publishes original manuscripts focusing on topics, concerns, and methodologies for improving the quality of teacher education broadly defined to include preservice preparation, the induction years, and the professional development of career teachers. Issues in Teacher Education welcomes submissions in a variety of formats: research studies, essays, opinion papers, descriptions of exemplary programs, reports of innovations in the clinical aspects of teaching, legislative summaries, book reviews, etc. Submissions range from 500 to 5,000 words, with the average printed article around 3,000 words.
Manuscripts are received and reviewed year round. To have a manuscript considered for publication, submit four double spaced copies to the Editor along with one self-addressed, stamped, business envelope. Manuscripts should follow the style outlined in the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Issues in Teacher Education will return manuscripts, unread, that do not meet acceptable style standards. Provide a separate cover page that includes author’s name, title, institution, mail and e-mail addresses, voice and FAX numbers, a brief professional sketch (3-5 sentences), and a statement that the manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will be required to submit a (revised) hard copy manuscript, an email attachment version, and a disk version in MS Word for Macintosh operating system. Any graphic material should be submitted camera ready.
